Golden Anchor

This is a wonderful program designed to meet the needs of our Delta Gamma sisters and others who live in assisted living facilities and are visually compromised. I can only imagine the Delta Gamma memories that can be shared and the fostering bond of sisterhood; no matter what the age. This program is totally funded and materials supplied by our national Foundation.

There are many ways you can help with this project:

Volunteer one or more times in an assisted living facility near you to do any of a variety of activities with the visually impaired DG such as: reading, crafts, games, art etc. (Visits can be scheduled to meet your calendar needs and coordinate with the facility.
Help from your home to facilitate the logistics of implementing this program; including phone calls and/or paperwork.
Are you aware of a Delta Gamma who resides in an assisted living facility or one who has visual impairment and would benefit from our program?

Collect Box Tops and Campbell's Soup Labels for Education.

Clip them and bring them to the meetings or contact our vp Foundation for a mailing address.

Guide Dog Events
Volunteer at local puppy meetings and local outings such as Mariners games and the opera.

Recycle Glasses

Do you have any unused glasses?  Did you know you can recycle them and help others in need?  Bring your specs to any alumnae meeting and we will deliver them to the local chapter of The Lions Club International.  They will then have them cleaned, repaired, and distributed in developing countries to people who can not afford new prescription glasses.  This is a great opportunity to make a difference!
